Bolts On Top of Your Existing Post
Powder-coated steel that fastens directly to the top of a 4×4 wood or metal post. The plate creates a wider, steadier footprint that reduces sway and keeps your mailbox level over time. Installs in about twenty minutes with the included hardware.
What does the Surface Mounting Plate fit on?
It fits on top of any standard 4×4 wood or metal post. It does not replace the post itself. If you don't have a post yet, you'll want an in-ground post first, or pair this plate with a fresh 4×4 from your local lumber yard.
Does it work with every Adoorn mailbox?
Yes. The four corner holes are spaced to match the floor of every Adoorn post-mount mailbox, so any of our mailboxes drop right onto the plate.
What hardware comes in the box?
Four 5/16" bolts plus clear step-by-step installation instructions. You'll need a drill with a 1/4" bit, a wrench or socket wrench, and a level to install.
How long does the install take?
About twenty minutes, start to finish. Drill pilot holes if your post doesn't already have a top-mount pattern, level the plate, then bolt the mailbox down through the four outer corner holes.
Can I use this to retrofit an existing mailbox post?
